What is F1 2020?
Another installment of the series of racing games first released in 2009, using the official Formula One license. F1 2020 is traditionally developed by Codemasters Software, the masters of racing games long in the making, the creators of such brands as Dirt, GRID or Micro Machines. The game features all of the teams and drivers participating in this season's competition.
What's new in F1 2020?
F1 2020 will offer 20 realistically mapped tracks, including two new ones – Hanoi Circuit and Zandvoort Circuit. A split-screen mode for two players will make a return, complementing the online module of competitive play. The biggest novelty, however, is the new mode called My Team, in which we create our own team and lead it to glory both as a driver and a manager. Career modes and Formula 2 races will also return, with slight tweaks to the visuals and the ability to personalize the gameplay more.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
The F1 games released year to year share the same problem as other such series – namely, lack of innovation. F1 2020 has a good chance of becoming a fairly unique entry in the series. For the first time in the history of the series, we will be racing on tracks that won't be part of the real competition until next year – due to the pandemic. I am also very interested in My Mode allowing you to manage your own Formula One team. I just hope it's extended enough to make you want to spend at least a few hours with it. I usually bought F1 games a few months after the release, but in this case, the incentive to buy F1 2020 on launch day is quite real.
