Paper Mario: The Origami King Description
Paper Mario: The Origami King is the sixth installment in the Paper Mario series and the first to be released on the Nintendo Switch console. The game is a humorous hybrid of genres, taking full blasts of turn-based RPGs and traditional platformers with the popular plumber in the lead role.
Plot
Paper Mario: The Origami King takes place in the origami kingdom, which was captured by Olly and his army of paper soldiers. Princess Peach has been imprisoned in a distant castle and Mario must once again find a way to save her, working with comrades such as Luigi, Bowser, Toad and Olivia, King Olly's sister.
Mechanics
Paper Mario: The Origami King is accurate to the RPG roots of the cycle and at the same time focuses on exploring the world and the adventure with environmental puzzles and platform levels. The game was also full of humorous accents characteristic for the series.
One of the biggest novelties is the paper arms, which we use to interact with the environment and solve puzzles and mini-games. There have also been changes in the turn-based combat system. The battles take place in circular arenas and require the player to think logically as well as cleverly to line up enemies and maximize their damage.
Technical aspects
Graphics is a combination of three-dimensional environment with paper characters, which gives the game a unique style. During the game, we travel through a vast, colorful and diverse world, controlling the "paper" model of Mario and his companions.
