Batman Arkham City – Calendar Man's riddle hinting the next game. The most obscure secrets in video games

Table of Contents

A few years ago, Rocksteady buck the trend of games based on comic books being average at best. Batman: Arkham series not only proved a hit, but also a game with a myriad of secrets. Batman: Arkham Asylum features a secret room full of clues foreshadowing the next installment in the series, Arkham City. The sequel also features quite a few easter eggs. The one that remained undiscovered for the longest was the one that hinted the development of the final part of the trilogy.

The Calendar Man sitting in the cell has different answers depending on when you talk to him. When we talk to him after setting the date to December 13, 2004 (the day Rocksteady was founded), Batman will hear that the villain was with him at the very beginning of his journey (a reference to Arkham Asylum) and will also be with him when the final day arrives (a reference to Arkham Knight, which was in development at the time).

Of course, Batman: Arkham Knight was also packed with easter eggs and secrets. Compared to the one mentioned above, however, they were discovered rather quickly.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent – the mission with seals

The next easter egg was hidden in Xbox 360's Splinter Cell: Double Agent and it was so well hidden by the developers that they actually had to reveal it themselves after years. In this case, was a co-op mission where you had to rescue seals. You activate it by shooting the lock of a cabinet, taking out a gold coin and going with it to the machine located at the beginning of the level. Once the baby seal is released, a long sequence of tasks begins, as shown in the video below.

It should come as no surprise that we only found out about the secret quest when one of the game's designers decided to share information about this easter egg with the world. Four entire years after the release of this work.

Started writing about games on the SquareZone website. Later, he wrote and managed the non-existent PSSite.com, and currently runs his own blog about games. He hasn't yet written a text that he would be 100% satisfied with. He started his adventure with games at the age of 3, when he managed to convince his father to buy a C64 computer. The love for electronic entertainment awakened by Flimbo's Quest blossomed during the first adventures with Heroes of Might & Magic, reaching its peak after purchasing the first PlayStation. As he grew older, he had more encounters with Nintendo portable consoles, and also returned to the PC as an additional gaming platform. He collects games and is a fan of emulation.
