For a long time, Dragon Ball AF functioned as an urban legend, and subsequent rumors about the issue of anime with this title over the years fueled further fanarts, and this with Nappa SSJ, and this with Mr. SSJ3, and this with Broly SSJ4. In the end, the anime turned out to be a fan fantasy, because neither Toriyama nor Toei were ever going to create AF... Which does not mean that there was at least a grain of truth in these reports.

Dragon Ball AF was created as a fan manga. Two - probably the best in terms of both the script and the lines - are works by artists using the pseudonyms Young Jijii and Toyble. The latter is working today on the official Dragon Ball Super manga . Moreover, Toriyama himself somehow anointed him as his successor.

In the works of both, we can see the fifth level of Super Saiyan. This form is achieved by, among others, Gohan, Vegeta and the new antagonist - Xicor. And of course Goku. And the moment when in the Toyble manga the main character turns into a silver monkey with unnaturally long hair, it suits the atmosphere more than many DB movies.
