IRON MARINES IN A NUTSHELL
  1. Developer: Ironhide Game Studio
  2. Publisher: Ironhide Game Studio
  3. Release date: September 2017

The Ironhide Game Studio team is primarily known for the Kingdom Rush trilogy, but in 2017, they finally proposed a new IP, Iron Marines, and it proved to be one of the best releases of that year.

This game is an RTS from ground-up designed for the mobile platforms. During missions, players command a small team of space marines, which they control through an intuitive touch interface. The action is fast and combat is satisfying. The construction of the bases is basically a tower defense – traversing the maps, we come across places where sentry turrets can be built.

That combination yielded a game that has a lot of depth, but at the same time is dynamic and a single battle doesn't take that long to finish. Most of all, however, Iron Marines proves to be wildly successful. The campaign is brilliantly designed and it's hard to get away from the screen. Plus, while this title has micropayments, they are genuinely optional and there's no need to spend money even at the highest level of difficulty. Virtually the only major drawback of this game is the lack of multiplayer.

Door Kickers

Business Model: premium

DOOR KICKERS IN A NUTSHELL
  1. Developer: KillHouse Games
  2. Publisher: KillHouse Games
  3. Release date: September 2015

For players looking for unusual strategies, Door Kickers is one of the best options, it's a conversion of a PC smash hit about leading a SWAT team.

In the game, events are watched from top-down perspective, and the gameplay happens in real time with active pause, allowing you to pause at any time and issue orders easily. The authors bet on realism, putting tons of equipment used by authentic police forces at the player's disposal, and forcing the use of tactics similar to real ones.

This game offers a wide variety of challenges. We will be dispatched to storm criminal bases, rescue hostages and escort prisoners. Plus, the gameplay is very flexible and each mission can be completed in many different ways. Door Kickers is not only an excellent strategy, but also a highly original game as such. On the mobile market, it certainly is unmatched.
