The World of Warcraft MMORPG is known all across the world, but only the oldest veterans of computer entertainment remember its roots, which were a series of real-time strategies. Recently, the third installment of the series, known for its introduction of 3D graphics to the series, received a remastered edition, known as Reforged. The 2002 original still remains one of the most fondly-remembered real-time strategy games, introducing expansive, story-driven, and lengthy single-player campaigns and competitive multiplayer matches,

Warcraft 3 was a huge hit. The game had a million copies sold in the first month, and critics praised everything from audiovisuals, story, to Battle.net multiplayer functionalities. Part three is considered to be one of the mainstays of the real-time strategy genre. A year later, The Frozen Throne expansion came out, quickly reaching one million copies sold. It is also worth noting that despite the 3 million copies sold, a number cited frequently by various sources, the creators reportedly delivered 4.4 million units to stores. As a result, the number of copies (without the remaster) may be significantly higher.
