The following page of the Disgaea RPG guide contains the most important information about developing characters. Here you will read about the interface, learn how to raise the level of Skills, Weapon Mastery, and learn about Evility.
A list of your characters can be found in the Party - Character List tab. Click on one of your heroes to open a window with detailed information about them.
Character interface

Character level
You raise the level of your characters with experience points gained during battles. At the beginning of the game, each hero will be able to reach a maximum of level 100.
After reaching level 100, your character will have to go through reincarnation. You will read more about this on a separate page of the guide - Level 100 - what's next?
Skills
In the Skill - WM tab, you will find the currently assigned skills. New skills will be unlocked at higher levels
The character can have up to 4 active skills. To change them, click on Change.
Choose 1 out of the 4 skills you want to replace. Then click on one of the unassigned skills from the list below.
You can also click on the blue Auto icon to automatically assign the most powerful skills.
You will also find information about the cost of using the skill during combat (SP) and the range of damage (All or One Enemy).
You can level up skills with experience points gained during combat.
There are also special items - Skill Books - which add experience points to skills. Click on the Enhance icon to use them.
This will open a window with a list of all skills acquired by your characters. There you will find information about the current and the maximum skill level as well as the experience bar.
Select the skill from the list you want to level up.
There are 3 types of Skill Books - bronze adds 10 experience points, silver 25, and gold grants 100 points. Click on Use under one of the Books to use it.
These items can be earned as special rewards during missions. You will also buy them during Events with Event points.
Weapon Mastery
In the Skill-WM tab, you will find Weapon Mastery - proficiency in using weapons. Each character has a preferred type of weapon - this icon is located next to the hero's thumbnail.
During a battle, your characters gain experience points in Weapon Mastery. You can also use special items to increase the WM level.
Click on UP next to Weapon Mastery you want to level up.
There are 3 types of items (Statue) - bronze adds 10 experience points, silver 25, and gold 100 points. Click on Use under one of the items to use it.
These items can be earned as special rewards during missions. You will also buy them during Events with Event points.
The maximum level of Weapon Mastery can be increased in Mao's Lab.
Evility
Evility is a hero's passive ability. Each hero has a unique Evility.
Main Evility is the character's initial ability. You unlock Sub Evility when using Nether Enhance. Characters are enhanced in Mao's Lab.
The Enhancement level can be found under the hero's thumbnail.
Nether Enhance
In the N.E. tab (Nether Enhance), you will find information about a hero's enhancement level. Nether Enhance is performed in Mao's Lab using character copies. Read more about this on the Character copies - how to use? page.
Each character can be enhanced 10 times. When you perform Nether Enhance, you unlock boost to stats, a new skill, or a Sub Evility.
