The last chapter (Darkest Before the Dawn) of the fifth episode of Batman: The Telltale Series - The Enemy Within starts in the "Ace Chemicals" location.
Batman will enter the building and you will gain full control over him. Head towards the door. You will stumble upon imprisoned Waller, as well as Joker and his men. Joker will start a conversation:
Dialogue option |
You almost killed me. |
Let Waller go. |
Never better. |
... |
Dialogue option |
She deserves a cell, not this. |
Waller's flawed but not evil. |
You're the criminal here. |
... |
Waller will say that it wasn't without a reason:
Dialogue option |
You only care about yourself. |
You're not innocent here. |
She's right, Joker. |
... |
Joker will want to kill Waller. You need to stop him. You will have two dialogue options to choose from, but they don't affect the story in any way. The interrupted Joker will kidnap Waller and you will need to fight one of his men. Once the encounter is over, Batman will head to Joker and Waller.
Dialogue option |
Your hatred is making you blind. |
I get that you're trying. |
This isn't my way. |
... |
Tiffany will appear in the area and will confess that she is the one who killed Riddler:
Dialogue option |
This is between us, Joker. |
Don't listen to her. |
Tiffany, get back! |
... |
A long fighting sequence awaits you here - press the appropriate buttons.
Finally, the battle will be over and Joker will ask Batman if he ever considered him a friend:
- I did.
- Not once.
The choice affects the final scene of the game. The first option makes Bruce visit Joker in the prison. The second one will cause Joker to hate Bruce.
Joker will end up in a prison and Batman will awake in an ambulance. Waller will thanks him for saving her life:
Dialogue option |
Doesn't mean I like you. |
All in a day's work. |
Now you owe me. |
... |
Waller will start explaining that she did not want it to end like this:
Dialogue option |
That almost sounds like sorry. |
I know the feeling. |
Save it, Waller. |
... |
Dialogue option |
You're so full of it. |
I don't judge you. |
You went too far. |
... |
Dialogue option |
That's how I catch them. |
Get out of my town. |
You're no different. |
[Grapple away] |
Waller will walk away and Gordon will start a conversation with Batman:
Dialogue option |
I want our partnership back. |
Maybe you should retire. |
Fight for your old job. |
... |
The action will then move to the roof of the building and Tiffany will want to leave Gotham. The course of the dialogue depends on whether you've told Tiffany that Bruce Wayne is Batman:
You did not tell Tiffany that Bruce Wayne is Batman
In this case Tiffany will want to leave Gotham with Waller.
Dialogue option |
We have to be better than them. |
You sound like Waller. |
There's always a line. |
... |
Regardless of your choice, Tiffany will head towards the helicopter and Batman will give her his last words:
Dialogue option |
Watch your back with Waller. |
Don't forget who you are. |
I will bring you to justice. |
... |
You told Tiffany that Bruce Wayne is Batman
In this case Tiffany will want to leave Gotham with the help of her costume:
Dialogue option |
I wish I didn't know. |
You should be afraid. |
You could have told me. |
... |
Dialogue option |
You're only human. |
Nothing justifies murder. |
At the end of the conversation you need to make an important decision:
- You need a mentor.
- You need to face justice.
The first option will improve your relationship with Tiffany and will make Batman her teacher. The second one will definitely worsen the relationship and will turn Tiffany into a criminal.
Now Bruce will head to his estate to learn that Alfred wants to leave Batman:
Dialogue option |
Just take a vacation. |
You can't leave me. |
Then just leave. |
... |
Note - selecting Then Just Leave will end the conversation and Alfred will leave the estate immediately, without stating the reason for doing so.
Dialogue option |
So just be my butler. |
You said you weren't a coward. |
I can't do this without you. |
... |
Alfred will start talking about Joker:
Dialogue option |
You encouraged this plan. |
Yeah, and it worked |
That was a mistake. |
... |
Alfred will suggest that Batman creates enemies for himself:
Dialogue option |
You must be drunk. |
The good outweighs the bad. |
There's evil without Batman. |
... |
Dialogue option |
That's the cost of war. |
Stop whining, Alfred. |
We can fix that. |
... |
Alfred will suggest that his health problems come from Bruce:
Dialogue option |
Don't put that on me. |
Alfred, I'm so sorry. |
I'm that bad, huh? |
... |
Dialogue option |
I'm not turning into my father. |
You can't really believe that. |
Give me a break. |
... |
Dialogue option |
You did the best you could. |
I'm nothing without you. |
We failed each other. |
... |
A signal calling Batman will appear in the sky and you will need to make a decision:
- Give up Batman.
- Give up Alfred.
The Give up Batman option will cause Bruce to abandon his Batman identity and Alfred will stay in the estate. The Give p Alfred option will cause Alfred to permanently disappear from Bruce's life.
At the end of the conversation you will witness the summary of the gameplay and a final scene with Joker at the Arkham prison. You've just completed Batman: The Telltale Series - The Enemy Within.
