Question Mary Drower | Chapter one - Andover Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Return to the tobacco shop and go to the bedroom. Look at Mrs Ascher's niece (three clues).
Pay closer attention to her lowered eyes, handkerchief and to modest black clothes.
Ask about Mary's relationship with her aunt (3 ego points), ask if her aunt had children (1 ego points). Then ask if Alice was afraid of her husband (1 ego points) or if Mary ever thought that Frank would go through with his threats (3 ego points). Next ask if Alice was alright (1 ego points). Ask also if Franz forced his wife to give him money (3 ego points) or if she had a reason to help her husband (1 ego points). If you suggest (in the beginning) that Mary is Alice's inheritor, you can also apologize (1 ego points) which let you continue the dialogue.
After the questioning, Mary status in Poirot's notebook will change from suspect to witness. If you make a mistake (by saying something about divorce or accusing Mary of lying) you will get the trophy Small donkey (for mistake in deduction). For being rude for Mary and making her crying even more, you will get the trophy Dali moustache.
