V Rising offers a command console - a powerful tool that allows complex modifications to the game. Among others, you can input special commands that greatly facilitate certain aspects of the gameplay, as well as allow adjusting the game properties to your liking. On this page of our guide, we show the basics of using the command console, how to bring it up, and finally provide a list of the most useful commands that are especially useful during early game.
How to bring up the command console?
To be able to bring up the command console, you first need to enable it in the game settings. You can do this by choosing "Options" from the main menu or from the pause menu available by pressing ESC at any moment during the game. In the "General" tab, you can find a setting "Enable console". Check the box next to it to enable it.
From now on, at any moment of the game, you will be able to press the tilde (~) key to bring up a grey table. The bar found below the table is used to input commands.
Useful commands
The first command you may want to input after bringing up the command console will be:
- List
This command brings up all available commands and cheats in the form of a list. Most of them are easily understandable even from their names, and the console will fill up the remaining part of the command after you input the first few letters of it (such suggestions will appear in a small window and you can press TAB to fill the remaining letters of the command). The interpreter will also make sure that the variables you input (e.g. teleportation coordinates) are written in a way that will be understandable for the game.
When playing alone or hosting a private game, it is worth establishing yourself as an administrator as soon as possible. You can do that by inputting the following command:
- Adminauth
If everything goes according to plan, you'll be given full control of the match and the console, and an appropriate notification will appear in the game's chat.
The Adminauth command only works when playing single-player and when hosting a private game. On a public server, you can expect this command to be unavailable.
