Medical Staff in Two Point Hospital Two Point Hospital Guide and Tips
Last update: 31 August 2018
In Two Point Hospital, assigning correct employees is one of the most important things that you have to do. Your staff is divided into four groups: Doctors, Nurses, Janitors and Assistants. Each group has specific duties, e.g. doctors must work in offices, assistants help patients at the reception etc. Open the window for a specific room to learn which employees it requires. Also, Research and Marketing rooms have the option to increase the number of employees who can work in them. Use this option to increase their efficiency. This is especially useful for the Research room because you can speed up the process of researching new technologies.
You don't always have to assign specific types of employees. Every staff member has different abilities. Some of them have only a small impact on your employee's performance. However, there are certain specializations that are necessary for specific assignments. Tomography scanner is a great example here - this assignment requires a doctor who specializes in radiology. No one else will try to work with this device. You can learn about your staff's skills by opening the window presented in the picture below.
You can also check skills of those who want to work at your hospital. People with greater experience will earn more. Their recruitment payment is also higher.
You aren't limited to their starting skills. One of the things that you can do is to build a training room. There, you can train your staff and develop their skills. This option allows you to create a group of employees that will specialize in certain tasks, even within their own group. Select "Start Training" option in the window of your training room. This opens another window where you can select type of training [1], a trainee [2] and staff members who will receive the training [3]. A trainee determines whether you will have to pay for a training or not. You can train your staff for free by selecting one of your employees. A guest trainee requires payment - it depends on type of training and number of staff members that will participate in it.
The most efficient way of managing your staff is to plan which type of room you want to build and then recruit and train your staff so they can work in a given office. An office should be placed after you are done with training. Skills can't be developed infinitely. Each staff member has a certain number of ability slots. The higher the level, the more abilities they can use. The maximum number of slots is five.
An initial staff assignment to a given room doesn't mean that an employee will work there all the time. Employees often switch jobs which means that a staff member who is good at treating patients can end up in a diagnostics room. Because of that you should limit their job assignments. Open the staff window and select Job Assignment tab. Thanks to that you can reduce situations where your employees switch jobs. Remember, a new staff member starts with all job assignments - keep an eye on this window and be ready to modify your staff's assignments.
Your staff also has feelings. It is expressed by two values: morale and traits. The first one informs you about your staff's needs. It is affected by, e.g. thirst or a need to go to a toilet. An employee's salary also affects this value. The second value informs you how much stamina your employees have. When it is too low, a staff member will go on a break. A room can be left empty if it doesn't have more employees assigned to it. This can create long queues. Therefore, you should always have a spare employee. A staff member that took a break can replenish their stamina in a social room or they can fulfill their needs that have negative impact on their morale. Remember to build enough social rooms so every staff member will be able to access them. Otherwise, their morale will reach the lowest value. A demoralized staff member gives you an ultimatum - ignore it or fail to fulfill it and they will leave.
