Chapter 1 - Four Days Earlier | The Hong Kong Massacre Walkthrough The Hong Kong Massacre Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 28 January 2019
This page of our guide to The Hong Kong Massacre contains walkthroughs for all the levels available in the first chapter. The descriptions focus on the levels' unique elements or places where you can die easily.
Creating a perfect walkthrough is impossible - some of the enemies are placed in different locations every time you start a given level (e.g. after your character's death). Don't expect that shooting blindly at the same spot will allow you to kill an enemy. That bandit can stand in a different place.

Got Myself a Gun
Number of enemies: 5
Time limit for the challenge: 30 seconds
Commentary: An easy level where the only difficulty comes from the fact that you have to use a pistol (a rifle and other better weapons can be purchased after this level). Be cautious in the central corridor - depending on how the enemies are placed, you can encounter 1 or even 3 bandits. Jump to the sides. Another thing you can do is to stand near the southern door and shoot enemies from that position.
Death Comes Knocking at the Door
Number of enemies: 9
Time limit for the challenge: 40 seconds
Commentary: This is the first time you will encounter enemies with more powerful weapons. You should pay extra attention to enemies equipped with shotguns (leap towards them - you will be invulnerable for a brief moment) and rifles (they shoot with longer bursts). Always pick up their weapons, especially when you didn't unlock them.
Car Trouble
Number of enemies: 10
Time limit for the challenge: 50 seconds
Commentary: In this mission, you can keep your hero alive by shooting at enemies who aren't on the screen yet (pay attention to red arrows) or when they have just appeared near the edge of the screen. Use this method to eliminate the enemy with a rifle inside the garage's first room (see the picture above). Shoot him immediately.
No One's Safe Until You're All Dead
Number of enemies: 9
Time limit for the challenge: 30 seconds
Commentary: Go south after you leave the starting location. Pay attention to the red arrows to attack enemies before they appear on the screen. The last enemy from the first group is in the southern toilet (see the picture). Once you eliminate him, go east to defeat the remaining enemies.
Vengeance is My Only Friend
Number of enemies: 13
Time limit for the challenge: 46 seconds
Commentary: This level is longer than the previous ones. However, you will encounter single enemies (or pairs of them). First, you need to go north. Then, turn west and, lastly, head south-west. Look for opportunities where you can shoot through the door. The room presented in the picture above shows white tables where you can perform a slide. Try to use similar objects in the next missions.
Bang, Bang, Feels Good To Be Back
Number of enemies: 20
Time limit for the challenge: 1 minute and 15 seconds
Commentary: One of the longer levels in the game - you need to be careful if you don't want to repeat the mission. The easiest way to go around the starting locations is to go counterclockwise. Go north after you deal with all enemies in this part of the map. The kitchen, presented in the picture above, will be the most problematic room - there, you will probably meet two enemies with rifles. Leap to the sides and perform slides on the tables. Remember that your character can also use slowmotion.
The Rat
This level doesn't have any challenges. You don't need to complete it within a specific time limit, and you can use the bullet time freely.
Commentary: This level is your first boss fight. The enemy is called Waise Chow. If you can, take a rifle with you. Besides that, you should also try to get 10 Clip Size and Extra Clip upgrades for this weapon. The location where you face the boss is vertical. The main hero and Chow walk in separate corridors.
Shoot the boss whenever he gets close to any of the windows or other destructible parts of the wall. You don't have to use the slowmotion, but it can be helpful. Your character dies after one hit. Chow, on the other hand, has a health bar.
The boss has, to some extent, similar moves as your character. You don't have to keep moving up the screen and chase Chow. Try to stop in one spot for longer and look for a chance to shoot the boss while moving sideways.
You will encounter regular enemies, too. Try to shoot them before they manage to attack you. If your ammo is almost depleted, think about picking up a weapon dropped by one of the enemies. Sadly, everyone here is carrying the weakest weapon - a pistol.
