Starting tips and items in Teamfight Tactics Teamfight Tactics Guide, tips

- Each unit has a passive or active ability. The active abilities cost 100 mana and has a cooldown. Cooldown is vital because it determines how many times our champ can uses its spell.
- Mana is a very important resource. Champs get mana by dealing or receiving damage Sometimes it is advantageous to put a unit with a very strong skill on the front of the army, even if it is not a tank, to quickly take damage, get Mana and use their abilities.
- Until you've put 30-50 gold aside, try not to use the paid replenishment of the pool of available champs.
- Divide your bench into two parts. On the left side put down the heroes that are the most important to you, and on the right side those less important. This will speed up the decision to sell heroes if needed.
- Check your opponents' boards. Once you have learned the basics of the game, make sure to check your opponents' boards frequently. This is helpful in setting up the army and making decisions about purchasing units. Examples? If 4-5 opponents are building a Noble army, maybe it's worth considering a change of strategy, because the chance of getting Ivern with three stars will be very low.
- Place CC characters in a vulnerable position (to they can take damage as quickly as possible). If an enemy doesn't kill them instantly, they will charge their mana faster and stun/freeze the enemy's army. They may even die a second later, but this will give the rest of your army some precious time to deal massive damage.
- Do not assign a unit from the carousel for round two. On the first round you will probably get a character worth more than 1 gold. Usually it is worth to sell it right after the first battle to buy as many first level characters as possible (from the store). The exception is when you get a lot of gold from the second fight. In order to leave some room for maneuver, place two 1st level units for the second fight and wait for results. If it is gold, collect it quickly and buy the whole store. If there is no gold, quickly sell the unit from the carousel and buyout all required stuff from the shop.
- Learn the probability of units on each level. The chance to draw heroes varies depending on the level of the player. The moment of advancement from level four to level five is particularly important. Then the chance to draw a unit costing 1 gold decreases from 55% to 40%. So if you are missing one Ivern to get two stars, don't spend your gold on fast advancement to 5th level and instead flip the characters several times. Finding Ivern in later parts will be much harder.

- Always think about heroes you want to buy in the future. You shouldn't have a situation where you don't know what your further plan is and simply focus only on improving your units.
- Items in the game are combined into stronger versions, but on simpler terms than in LoL. Two items are enough to create one much stronger. We will add the full list of combinations soon.
- Items dropped in the game as loot: B.F.Sword, Recurve Bow, Needlesly Large Rod, Tear of the Goddess, Giant's Belt, Chain Vest, Negatron Cloak and Spatula.
What is Spatula used for?
The Golden Spatula is a special item that itself gives us absolutely nothing, but can still be very useful. First, it can be combined with other items into strong armors and weapons. Secondly, by combining two Spatules and giving them to one of the units, we increase the limit of champs on the Board by one! Secondly, by combining two Spatulas and giving it to one of the units, you increase the number of usable heroes by one!
