Excavating tanks in Tank Mechanic Simulator Tank Mechanic Simulator guide, tips
Last update: 25 February 2020
In Tank Mechanic Simulator, you will find jobs during which you have to run excavations and search for destroyed tanks. This requires you to go to the field and use numerous tools. This chapter will help you in excavating tanks in Tank Mechanic Simulator.
Tools
The game has several tools that are necessary for conducting excavations away from the workshop. They are available in the jeep or quad bike. You can use the tablet (1), which displays a map and the approximate location of the tank. Use a minesweeper (2) for preliminary excavation, and then search the area using a metal detector (3) - you can replace it later with a drone or magnetometer. At the beginning of the game, you only have a jeep (4). You can replace it later with a quad bike.
How to dig out a tank?
The first and easiest stage is to get to the approximate location with a buried tank. The mini-map is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen - you can also use your tablet to check the map. Once you get there, use the metal detector and start looking for the tank. The picture below shows how to use this tool. The faster the sound, the closer you are to finding the tank. You can also use the meter attached to the detector - the closer you are to the tank, the greater the value (the closer to 10, the better).
As soon as you know where your tank is located, mark its position with a flag (M key by default), then take a minesweeper and start digging in the place you marked. Keep digging until the tank becomes at least a little visible. Then use your tablet to call for help to dig out the rest of the tank. At this point, it may happen that you have to pump out the water - turn on the pump located next to the excavation site (its pipe is connected to the water). Then use pressurized water and clean the vehicle (usually, you only need to get the tank clean in 30%). As soon as you do this, look at the tank, open the radial menu and use a tow truck (the Tank on trailer option, as shown in the picture below). You can now return to the workshop via the radial menu.
