Fishing in the game Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is a side activity in which the players can engage in, for example, in between completing the main storyline or side quests. Through fishing, you can earn additional rewards, such as Black Marks and chests filled with valuable loot.
Fishing pole - how to obtain?
You can get a free basic fishing pole after about 1.5 hours in the game (about 12% of the plot completed), after reaching Bilgewater in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.
Go to the Buhru Grotto and then to the place indicated in the picture above. The fishing pole and other valuable items are in the chest.
Fishing pole in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story can also simply be bought from the correct merchant - you'll find one of them in Bilgewater, at the location marked in the picture above.
In the later stages of the game fish won't be that easy to catch, so you'll have to gear up with better equipment.
Fishing equipment - how to equip your character?
You can find the Fishing tab in the main menu (tab key on PC). From there, you can find the fishing equipment, which is necessary to begin your angling career.
Head to the fishing menu, then equip your character with the Fishing Pole and Lure. Keep in mind that in the Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, you won't catch any fish without bait.
Bait can be found while exploring the in-game world or it can be purchased from a trader who sells fishing equipment, for example in Bilgewater.
Fishing - how to fish?
In the game Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, you can catch fish in specific locations, namely the fishing spots marked on maps with the characteristic hook icon.
Once you arrive at the correct location, you'll be able to cast your rod and sink your bait into the water. When casting bait, an indicator will appear at the top of the screen to show how far the bait will be cast.
If the fish is close to the fishing spot, then you won't need to cast your very far.
Once the fish grabs the bait, two indicators will appear on the screen:
- The red indicator: your character's stamina bar, which will decrease if you press the opposite directions to the fish's movements;
- The green indicator: the fish's stamina bar that decreases when the fish starts to escape. When its stamina is exhausted, the fish will stop fighting for a short while, giving you the opportunity to reel it in.
The key to success when fishing in the Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is keeping the line in the correct position and pulling in the same direction as the fish moves. Even if the fish starts to swim slightly away from you, keeping the stamina bar at a reasonable level is more important, because it reduces the likelihood of losing the fish.
When reeling in the fish, you need to remember that pulling the rod in the opposite direction to the fish's movements drastically reduces your character's stamina level - when this happens, the fishing line's color will change from blue to red.
When the fish reaches the fishing spot, it will automatically be fished out of the water and information about the type of fish (or, in rare cases, treasure) you've managed to catch will be displayed on the screen.
