This age of the guide to Ruined King: A League of Legends Story features important information about the combat system, as well as advice that will help you make progress in the game.
Combar in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is based on Lane Initiative, which means that each character participating in a given match can make a move only within a certain time. The key to success against many types of opponents is to use the character skills and move between lanes.

Team
There are six playable characters in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story: Illaoi, Braum, Yasuo, Miss Fortune, Ahri and Pyke. Each character plays a specific role in the team and has original skills that can be used during the fight. For example, Illaoi is excellent as a healer, Braum is excellent at making the enemies focus on him and taking damage, and Yasuo deals massive amounts of damage.
The team in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story can consist of up to three characters; therefore, you need to properly balance the offensive and defensive strength of the team to defeat any enemies you encounter on your way. You can change the composition of the team at the rest point.
In Ruined King: A League of Legends Story all active heroes earn experience points together.
Starting a fight
Some fights in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, especially those related to the storyline, will start automatically. As you explore different areas of Runeterra, you will be able to start a fight by using a special Dungeon Ability, which will give you an advantage over the enemy right at the start.
Initiative and course of the fight
In the middle of the screen (as marked in the picture above) you can see the Initiative bar - it marks the characters who make their move first. In this particular case, it is Yasuo whose portrait is closest to the left edge of the Initiative bar.
The Initiative bar in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is divided into different areas:
- Hazard: these are effects that have a negative influence on the fighting characters, e.g. poisonous fog, which causes a certain amount of damage to anyone in its area;
- Boon: positive boosts that can e.g. increase the strength of the fighting characters, heal them or increase the chance of a critical hit;
- Wildcard: this type of area can be a threat or a positive effect.
We should note that the enemies are also affected by the special areas, both in terms of boosts and weaknesses.
Special enemy abilities
Once the fight starts, turn on the inspection mode and check the enemies' special abilities to know what to pay attention to during the fight and what skills to use. For example, enemies who hide in the shadows will be insensitive to attacks, but you can remove this effect from them by using the push back ability.
Skills
In Ruined King: A League of Legends Story there are three types of skills:
- Instant: these abilities can be used immediately and in most cases do not use mana. These types of attacks charge the reload bar, which you can use to use the lane ability for free.
- Lane: skills that use up mana and require a bit of time to execute. These types of skills often have an additional property and can e.g. remove a unique effect from the enemy that can have a big impact on the course of the fight;
- Ultimate: special, extremely powerful skills that you can perform after charging the Ultimate bar.
Lane skills allow the characters to move up and down the Initiative bar to reduce the skill use time (Speed Lane) or to enhance the effect of the used skill (Power Lane).
Speed Lane skills are faster, but have a slightly weaker effect. In turn, Power Lane skills are stronger, but require more time.
Ultimate skills in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story are the strongest abilities that the characters have. The team has only one Ultimate skill indicator, which is recharged when using other abilities. When the bar is loaded to 100%, you will have to decide which Ultimate skill to use.
Remember that the Ultimate bar can be used only in a given fight, even a few times if the fight lasts long enough.
Pushing the enemies back
Some skills, such as Yasuo's The Gathering Storm, allow you to push the enemies back, and thus delaying their turn. This allows you to throw your opponents out of the positive environment effect (Buff) or push them into the danger area (Debuff).
