Walkthrough - Tutorial Overlord Guide

A handful of advice for a start:

• The guide will give you directions as to where to find particular objects. However, in many of places there's gold and other useful stuff waiting for you - just go ahead and send your minions anytime you see a container, a building, a barrel, a box, etc. - they'll be more than happy to bring every precious thing directly to yourself. It's important also because that's how your little fellows find and complete their own "armory" which increases their battle power.
• Your little helpers are very loyal and won't hesitate sacrificing their lousy lives for you. But be sensible and try not to send them for certain death if there's no advantage to it (well, it can always be funny...). When you fight a heavy armed enemies - which hits weapons like a huge hammer or mace against the ground or jumps down his ass, etc. - try observing their behaviors and withdraw right before they attack so you won't have to combine how to replenish your commando.
• Were you totally out of minions, there is a way to replenish them. Among other facilities, you've got an arena there in your tower (first staircase down to the left). You just go there, choose your opponent, fight them and collect their life force. Even if you die, you still collect your minion force. There are also areas in the locations you visit where you can collect minion force by killing some more-less innocent creatures without much risk - like the sheeps on the meadow in Mellow Hills. All the lands are construed in a way to enable you meeting smaller enemies - like bugs, frogs, birds, whisps etc. - of the life force color corresponding the kind of minions you need most in the place.
• If you need to walk across a water - go ahead - your minions will find their way: a branch, a bridge, etc. - if there is any. Don't encourage them, though, or else they will surely drawn (except for the blue ones).
• Some of the tower objects you retrieve will let you upgrade your armory. This guide not only tells you where to find them, but also how to use them. Keep in mind that you can visit your tower-sweet-tower and buy new stuff anytime you want and have the means necessary. The more minions of a kind you sacrifice, the stronger your weapon or armour. So, don't economize! Save a few hundreds of minions and go for spree (not the town, I mean)!
• The tactics of fighting bosses presented are not the only possible ones (sometimes you find here a couple of options). It's likely that you discover another way, more in your kind of style. Don't be afraid to experiment with spells, improvise and combine multiple options.

Tutorial

Welcome among the living! Since you've woken up - or rather have been awoken by some strange creatures - they are minions, your new company - it's time to learn something! Go ahead then. Walk down the stairs (#1), follow Gnarl and you shall see the first spawning pit from which you call your minions. Hold SHIFT and the right mouse button and your helpers will jump out of the pit. Follow your servant through the door (#2) for your first combat lesson.

Here you'll meet Jester. Hit him with your axe (SPACE) a few times. Do it again holding SHIFT to lock on the target (#1). When he runs away - send you minions to follow and bit him up - use left mouse button (#2).

After that, learn to guide minions by holding both mouse buttons and moving it where you want to send the guys. When they beat up the jester now he'll run away (#1). That's the end of the training (but you can still beat up the bastard if you want to). Now follow Gnarl along the path, listen to what he says and go to the teleport waypoint (#2).
