Total War: Warhammer 3 Introduces Three New Legendary Lords. Next DLC and Update 6.0 Will Add Unique War Strategies
The developers of Total War: Warhammer 3 have talked about the news heading to the game. The characters of the new lords were presented, as well as plans for future updates.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's premiere was highly acclaimed and drew a large number of players to the universe. However, it's important to remember the fantasy version of this iconic universe, where Total War: Warhammer 3 takes place. The title recently received a substantial 5.2 update, and now the developers have revealed new information about version 6.0 and the next DLC.
Three new lords
The upcoming expansion will introduce three new legendary lords, whose descriptions are devoted to the largest part of the material.
The first one is Gorbad Ironclaw, a commander who wants to carry out a plan to bring together various orcs and goblins to create unique strategies, which can have a big impact on the battlefield. One of the new units available for his use will be the Savage Orc Great Shaman.
Experiment with your army, what units you bring, and that can have both campaign and battle and, interactions to make them quite different.
The second one is Golgfag Maneater, belonging to the Ogre Kingdoms, which enabled the team to create "the first legitimate mercenary faction." A function called "Golgfag's Contracts" will be added, which will allow us to work for other factions, thereby earning a "juicy payout." Furthermore, the defeated enemies' grievances will be aimed more at the people who employed us. Among Golgfag's units we find, for instance, Yhetee.
The last lord is U'Zhul Skulltaker, champion of Khorne. As his name suggests, he is known, among other things, for collecting skulls to become stronger, which the devs also want to implement in the game.
When he defeats characters in the campaign, he will claim a portion of their strength, some of their 'champion essence', which he can then use to imbue his cloak of skulls.
However, the developers mention that there hasn't been much room for new lords in Khorne's army so far. To fill this gap, we will be getting two legendary heroes instead of one. These will be Scyla Anfingrimm and Skarr Bloodwrath.
Future updates
The team also took a moment to discuss temporary updates, such as the recent 5.2 patch. The devs want to make them "bigger and fuller," and also take into account the players' comments more. However, this doesn't mean that we should expect more lords, as some fans would like, but rather new campaign features or smaller and larger reworks.
Currently, the main focuses are Bretonnia, the Green Knight, Kislev, balancing and enhancing the "ancillary" system, and implementing the Chaos invasion. The devs also assure that they have many other ideas, for instance, for new variants of weapons.
Total War: Warhammer 3 was released in February 2022 exclusively on PC.
