Tom Cruise Spent Fortune on Ships to Complete Mission: Impossible 7
Work on Mission: Impossible 7 will resume, and Tom Cruise does not want any more delays due to the pandemic. As a result, the actor has rented cruise ships for the entire film crew to reduce the risk of infection.
In the era of coronavirus, the work on movie sets is very unstable. Strictly defined pandemic restrictions have to be watched, although one does never know whether the next day will not mean suspending of work for a certain time and postponing the premiere of the movie. Therefore, the year 2020 does not abound in cinema novelties, and the fate of the industry in the next few years is uncertain.
Tom Cruise is tired of such surprises and again shows that he does not settle for half measures. The filming of the seventh part of Mission: Impossible, of which, as you know, the actor is an indispensable part, will soon resume. Cruise decided to hire two huge ships to shoot the necessary scenes in Norway. All this to bring the crew together in one place and to minimize the risk of infecting himself and other people (via CruiseCritic).
Although Daily Mail reports that the Norwegian Minister of Culture Abid Raja allowed the movie to be filmed without a two-week quarantine, the cast was ordered to carry out at least two tests for coronavirus every 48 hours and was banned from approaching people not involved in the production. Therefore, Cruise decided to facilitate the task for his colleagues.
The ships rented by the 58-year-old actor are Norwegian cruise ships owned by Hurtigruten - Fridtjof Nansen (530 passengers) and Verstarelen (318 passengers). The former cost 500 thousand pounds, the price of the latter is unknown. It is not stated whether they will only serve as a temporary shelter or will be used in any of the scenes in the movie. All we know is that Cruise wants to film Mission: Impossible 7 as soon as possible, and this investment is to ensure a smooth completion of the production. The movie will debut in cinemas in November 2021.
