The Residence, Netflix's new series, takes viewers to the White House, where an ironic detective must solve a murder mystery that took place at the worst time. An official dinner takes place in the key US government building. The guest list includes representatives of the Australian government and well-known Australian personalities, for example, Kylie Minogue is giving a concert.

Does Hugh Jackman appear in Netflix's The Residence?

Throughout the eight episodes, Hugh Jackman is repeatedly mentioned to appear at the dinner. What's more, in addition to the famous actor being mentioned by other guests, he also appears on screen in episodes 2, 4, 6 and 7, but is it really Hugh Jackman? Viewers of The Residence may be disappointed, but the real Hugh Jackman did not appear in the series. The actor did not star in the Netflix production, and instead we see Justin Ellis-Johnson on screen, who plays the Australian actor in the aforementioned episodes.

But while we won't see the real Hugh Jackman in the series, there's no shortage of other well-known performers, such as Uzo Aduba, Randall Park, Giancarlo Esposito, Ken Marino and Kylie Minogue. And that's still not everyone, The Residence has managed to assemble a really interesting cast that helps tell the twisted murder mystery that takes place in the White House.

The series has been available in its entirety on Netflix since March 20. The production, while not based on any book, draws heavily from one, taking it as its starting point, as The Residence's showrunner admitted.
