The concept has proven to be a big success and gained overwhelmingly positive reviews. Many players are wondering if Thronefall will receive ports for mobile and consoles. Check the answer below.
Thronefall – Mobile and Console Ports Explained
The gameplay of Thronefall, which isn’t supposed to take a lot of time, would suit mobiles or consoles. However, we have bad news for those hoping to enjoy Thronefall on their Android or iOS phones, Xbox, Nintendo Switch or PS5 and PS4. As far as we know, the developers, GrizzlyGames, have not discussed those ports at all.
It is understandable, as the studio behind Thronefall is made up only of two indie developers. Even with the success of the game on Steam, GrizzlyGames might lack resources to work on additional features. In this situation, porting the game to different platforms would be low on the priority list. We should highlight that the title is in Early Access and is not even completed.
If you want to know more about the game, it is a good idea to visit the official Discord of the game. In FAQ, the developers have announced that a Linux port for the Thronefall is unlikely. They have also addressed requests for several features, such as endless and co-op modes. While GrizzlyGames stated that they are looking into implementing endless, it may take some time. Meanwhile, co-op will probably not happen, though they are not completely counting it out.
Will Thronefall receive mobile and console ports? The answer to this question is likely “no”, at least not in the nearest future. Everything probably depends on the popularity of the title. Players should wait for the official announcement from the studio and follow the game’s Discord for updates.
