We Got to Know the Medallion Animal From The New Witcher
The first mystery related to the new The Witcher has been explained. We already know what animal is represented by the mysterious medallion.
- We know what animal is represented by the medallion from the image accomapnying the announcement of the new The Witcher;
- According to one of the CD Projekt RED employees, it is a lynx;
- It may mean that the game will revolve around completely new threads in the known universe.
Announcement of the new The Witcher caused an understandable stir online. We didn't have to wait long for the players to start coming up with theories about the game.
Of course, their hypotheses could only be based on the enigmatic image, showing a witcher medallion lying in the snow. For some fans, it was quite problematic to describe.
Players were not sure what animal the medallion represents. Fortunately, one of the developers of the game spoke on the matter.
Lynx or a cat?
Marcin Momot, Community Director at CD Projekt RED, engaged in a discussion under his post on Twitter.
In the comments users discussed whether the medallion depicts a lynx, a cat or maybe a peculiar looking dog. Thanks to Momot's answer, we now know that it is the first of the aforementioned animals.
What does it mean in the context of the game?
Of course, at this point it's difficult to determine what it actually tells us. It does, however, disprove one fan theory.
Some speculated that the presence of a cat medallion on the image heralds a game focused on Ciri. The heroine had a pendant with such a symbol.
In reality, it's a lynx. So it's possible that the creators intend to touch upon a completely different theme in the new Witcher and expand the world known from books and games.
However, these are still speculations and the truth will be known when the developers decide to reveal a little more about the game. For now, we do not even know its proper title.
