- Tale of Immortal finally got an English-language version;
- The game debuted in Early Access in January and so far was only available in Chinese;
- The lack of an English version did not prevent the game from becoming a hit on Steam.
We finally got the English version of Tale of Immortal, an open-world RPG set in a universe inspired by Chinese mythology. The game was one of the biggest hits of the first quarter of the year, but until now it was available only in Chinese.
The game debuted on January 27 in Early Access, exclusively on PC. The developers plan the Early Access stage to last at least a year, so we will see version 1.0 in 2022 at the earliest.
The game's release turned out to be a huge success. It was the second biggest bestseller on Steam in its debut week. and only dropped out of the top ten at the end of March. These achievements are all the more impressive because these lists are created according to sales revenue, and Tale of Immortal is a relatively cheap indie game, with a standard price of less than $20.
The game also achieved impressive activity results. At one point, more people played it on Steam than Grand Theft Auto 5 and Rust. The current record is 184,181 simultaneous players and was set 7 months ago. It will be interesting to see if the addition of an English-language version will help the game beat this result.
It's worth mentioning that the game has been developing at a steady pace since its early access launch. A few days ago another major update was released, which introduced a lot of new content and fixed many gameplay issues. On the occasion of adding the English localization the devs organized a special offer, discounting the game by 20%. You can buy it now for around $15, which is the lowest price of Tale of Immortal recorded so far.
