Things are not going well at Ubisoft currently. The company recently experienced huge drops in stock value, yesterday it announced its withdrawal from the Tokyo Game Show 2024, and just a moment ago, out of the blue, news dropped about the delay of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. Now, however, we have received new information about Star Wars: Outlaws.

Star Wars: Outlaws sales fell short of expectations

The French company released a financial update today, revealing a lot of interesting information. For instance, we found out from it that the latest game from the Star Wars universe had disappointing sales. According to analyst estimates, approximately 800,000 copies were expected to be sold by the end of August.

Despite solid ratings (Metacritic 76) and user scores across the First Party and Epic stores (3.9/5) that reflect an immersive and authentic Star Wars universe, Star Wars Outlaws initial sales proved softer than expected.

However, the studio doesn't intend to give up and believes that the game will manage to attract a "large audience" during the holiday season.

Something new on the horizon

The team behind SW: Outlaws posted a message on X to thank all players and announce changes coming to the game. We can expect updates that will "enhance optimization, improve gameplay, and introduce new quality of life improvements." Combat and stealth system have been specified here.

The first story pack titled Wild Cards also had its release date announced. It will be available to play on November 21 and will focus on the Sabacc game tournament, where players will be able to compete with the legendary Lando Calrissian. Furthermore, everyone will receive new contracts for free.

Star Wars: Outlaws is heading to Steam

The devs also announced that on the same day, November 21, Star Wars: Outlaws will be released on Steam. This is related to the new publishing policy adopted by the company.
