Star Citizen 4.0 Confirmed. List of New Features Is Impressive
The devs of Star Citizen confirmed the release date and content of the next major update: version 4.0.
After the release of the big update 3.23, the devs of Star Citizen have shared their game development plans for the upcoming months. The Cloud Imperium Games studio has revealed the changes since the last roadmap was released.
The most important piece of information is the confirmation of recent speculations: version 4.0 will actually be the next major update of Star Citizen and will be released in third quarter of 2024. Players had their suspicions after reading the announcement accompanying the release of patch 3.23, especially considering the significant delay experienced by patch 4.0.
As for its content, the update will introduce the promised Pyro star system to the game, with six planets, several moons, and other locations. The life support system, engineering (another long-anticipated and eagerly awaited novelty), and fire hazard in selected units (along with fire extinguishers) will also be added to SC. This will be followed by new ship models.
An important update will also be the preliminary implementation of the so-called Server Meshing V1. This enables the development of an extensive, unified world spanning multiple individual servers.
