Star Citizen Is Expected to Receive One of Its Largest Updates in History. Recently Released Version 3.23 Already Impressed Players
Star Citizen received a major alpha 3.23 update, and the highly anticipated version 4.0 may be next in line.
Star Citizen key Alpha Update 3.23 is now available. Adventure Beckons is expected to be one of the "most extensive and game-changing" versions of the (in)famous space simulator from Cloud Imperium Games.
The game client has been slightly improved, which can be observed right from the start. The same applies to the significantly refreshed character creator, which offers many more options for changing the character's appearance.
The SC also received distribution centers belonging to mega-corporations. For now, we are only exploring them on the surface, but each of them stands out with its design. Inside, there are plenty of activities to do (including those that don't comply with cosmic law). The devs also included several ships and land vehicles, along with two new types of animals: the bird-like Maroka and the group-hunting Kopiony.
The update includes new features such as the option to repair fully damaged equipment (in version 3.23.1). Pilots' artificial intelligence in combat has been improved, which may be the most crucial change for some fans. The maps now greatly facilitate navigation in both space and on space stations, as well as the system for moving on foot and in space (EVA), reputation, and game optimization.
It's also worth adding that the devs have eliminated (or at least reduced) many bugs, including those that have been bothering Star Citizen for many years (via Reddit). You can find the full list of changes on the official website of Cloud Imperium Games.
To add more fun, different things excite some players more. Well, the developers have apparently confirmed that the next update of the alpha version of Star Citizen will be 4.0. At least that's what some fans think, pointing to the mention that in the next patch, we'll "jump" to a new star system (via Reddit).
Players have been anticipating this significant update for quite some time (initially, the developers mentioned a release in early 2023). While much of its content remains uncertain, this game patch is set to include features such as Engineering and atmospheric flight modeling.
