STALKER 2 Not for PS5
An employee of GSC Game World confirmed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is coming exclusively to PC and Xbox Series X/S. However, we suspect that this may only be a temporary thing.
One of the developers from GSC Game World has specified the platforms that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is going to use. In response to a fan question about a possible PlayStation 5 version, he said that the game is to be released exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X/S. The lack of a PS5 release is something that the players following the project expected, as it was sometimes described as "console exclusive on XSX" before, but now we have official confirmation.
The dev did not respond to whether it is a full-time exclusive or just temporary. The latter option seems more likely. We have learned from experience that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will also be released on PS5, although probably only one year after its release on PC and Xbox Series X/S. The dev's silence in this matter may be caused by the requirements of the agreement signed with Microsoft. If the corporation had full exclusivity for the game, they would probably boast about it.
GSC Game World employee also warned not to believe news appearing in some media about the release scheduled for 2021. He didn't explicitly state that the game will launch later, but he stressed that the official release date has not been announced yet. It is worth remembering that initially the official materials referred to 2021, but these references were eventually removed. We would be surprised if S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 appeared this year.
