Square Enix Changes Tifa Lockhart's Appearance in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, For Good Reason
The new patch Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade has made Tifa's outfit a little more modest. Some players reacted very negatively to this, but the developers had a good reason for making such a change.
Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade has received a new update. The official patch notes only state that the patch contains "fixes to several bugs." The changes made in reality sparked intense emotions among the series' fans.
- The players observed that in a brief scene resembling the Nibelheim incident, Tifa's outfit was modified to be less revealing.
- In Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade, the Nibelheim incident appears for a brief moment. However, it's an important part of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, and it was for this game that Tifa's more modest outfit was designed, and then it was simply transferred via an update to the older title.
- The Steam forum was quickly filled with almost hysterical reactions, but in fact, the devs had a good reason for this change. During the incident in Nibelheim, Tifa is only 15 years old. A very short scene in the first remake didn't arouse much emotion among anyone, but the publisher clearly didn't want to take any chances with the original costume in much longer sequences in Rebirth.
It's worth noting that the recent video material from Rebirth includes a beach scene where Cloud notices the prominently exposed bust of adult Tifa. Square Enix evidently has no issue with its heroines showcasing their attractiveness, and the alteration in the Nibelheim incident probably stems solely from the character's age rather than the puritanical preferences of the devs.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on February 29, exclusively on PlayStation 5. The sequel is also likely to arrive on PC in due time, just like Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade did.
