The return of Fort Condor in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has had a mixed reception with fans, as many find the minigame frustratingly difficult even on Normal mode. If you’re also struggling to beat it, you may be wondering if it’s worth the effort. Does completing Fort Condor on Hard Mode award any special rewards? We explain below.

FF7 Rebirth – Fort Condor Hard Mode Rewards

If you’re not a fan of Fort Condor in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you may be relieved to hear that beating Hard Mode is not required for progression. You have to beat four stages of the minigame on Normal Mode during the Protorelic Phenomenon questline in the Junon Region. That unlocks the Hard mode, but completing the challenges on Normal is enough to finish the quest and get the achievement Fort Condor Commander.

However, there is another trophy connected to the minigame. It is the 7-Star Hotel achievement, awarded after you inform Johnny that you’ve found and displayed all of the Treasure Trove Items in his Seaside Inn. After finishing all stages of Fort Condor on Hard mode, you get the Pride of the Condor Cavalry, which is one of the items required to complete Johnny’s collection and get the achievement.

Unless you’re a completionist, we won’t judge you for skipping it, though, as there is a whooping 88 treasures to find in total, and to get some of them you have to beat the other minigames at the highest difficulty.
