Spider-Man 2 PS5 Reviews Suggest Sony Got Another Great Exclusive
Numerous reviews of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 have already hit the web, with the game featuring the two spider heroes receiving very high marks from critics.
In a few days, the eagerly awaited Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be in the hands of PlayStation 5 owners. The first reviews of the new part of the series of action games from Insomniac Games are available. It seems that game matches the previous installment - or even surpasses it - as critics praise it highly. On Metacritic its average rating is 91/100 (based on more than 100 reviews).

Virtually all reviewers praise the story, which, like the previous part, plays an important role in the entire game. This time we play not as one, but two spider heroes - you can play as either Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Critics emphasize that their story is once again memorable, and the motif of switching between them at specific moments in the adventure was very well implemented. In addition, in the second game one of the main evil characters is Venom, whose plot is equally interesting.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in terms of gameplay is practically the same, but Peter and Miles have completely new abilities, which is a certain breath of fresh air. Critics have a slightly different opinion about the world map itself. The adventure is again set in New York, only on a larger area of it than in the previous installment. Some reviewers claim that the available activities are not engaging, and the combat itself becomes monotonous after a while. However, navigating such a large open world is said to be very fun and fast-paced.
"This is a textbook example of an exemplary action game, which you go through just like watching a good movie - absorbing everything with bated breath. It has all the necessary ingredients of a complete work - a cinematic plot, interesting characters, a variety of gameplay mechanics, epic moments, great combat and puzzles, situations that play on emotions, moments of surprise, and a capitalistically recreated New York," wrote GRYOnline.pl, 9/10.
"One can nevertheless call it [the game - ed. note] another exciting Spider-Man adventure, which is the best story so far from Insomniac and despite the fact that its open world turns out to be shallow, it [the title] is a great superhero outing," wrote IGN, 8/10.
"Marvel's Spider-Man 2 seems to be an ideal, albeit safe, evolution of the form that was first presented in 2018. With a very exciting story, a world traversing system, great graphics [...] this sequel is likely to win the hearts of most fans of the original," wrote Wccftech, 8.5/10.
It seems that the game is also polished in terms of optimization, as critics do not mention any bugs encountered or game clipping.
Premiere of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will take place on October 20. The game will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5 console, although it is very possible that - following the example of the previous installment - it will also be released on PC in a couple of years.
