Satellite Reign - Syndicate Spiritual Successor Leaves Early Access on the 28th of August
Funded on Kickstarter two years ago, Satellite Reign will make its debut on PC on August 28th this year, according to 5 Lives Studios. The game, called the spiritual successor to Syndicate Wars, is a cyberpunk RTS.
5 Lives Studio may be a small team but it’s comprised of experienced developers. In its ranks we find people involved in the making of games like Syndicate, GTA IV or Darksiders II. Satellite Reign is their debute under the 5 Lives Studios label.
The team published a new trailer in which they reveal Satellite Reign’s release date. The game is set for official release on PC on the 28 August this year. Still, it was available since December 2014 for $29.99 thanks to Steam Early Access. At the same time, the developers assured, that they will continue to publish patches even after the game is officialy released “for as long, as it will be necessary”. This includes new, additional content as well.
Judging from the positive reactions the Early Access version received, it will be a solid piece of coding. Just to remind you, the game was funded two years ago on Kickstarter with a minimum funding goal of 350 thousand pounds. It managed to gather over 450 thousand.
Satellite Reign is seen as a spiritual succesor to Syndicate Wars. This cyberpunk real time strategy sends us to the future, where society ruled by corporations is kept in rein by increasingly brutal police force. Not all citizens agree with this. Players will control the members of a special organization, that intends to change this state of affairs and return the power to the people.
