Sony Could Revive Two Iconic Series
PlayStation fans can look forward to the return of long-forgotten characters we haven't seen in years.
Although it's been several months since the launch of PlayStation 5, the console still hasn't received too many exclusive titles (especially in the context of Sony's invasion of the PC market). However, the situation may improve, as Sony apparently wants to add two unannounced games to its catalog. A well-known leaker claims that the Sly and InFAMOUS series will return to PS5 in new installments.
Sony is preparing an event for March - with Sly and inFamous in the background
The source of this information is the internet user AccountNGT, who rose to fame with a leak about Star Wars: Eclipse. He didn't have much to say about the games themselves, but did mention that Sony may be preparing an event this month to reveal some of the surprises it has in store for PlayStation fans.
The returns of the two series have been highly anticipated for quite some time. Both have not received a new adventure since 2013/2014, despite the fact that at one time they were quite successful and had a devoted fan base. Sly was even supposed to get his own movie and TV series, but we haven't heard about those since many, many years.
What speaks in favor of the raccoon-thief is the warm reception of other famous platformers returning from retirement, if only in the form of remasters. Crash, Spyro or even Ratchet are the main examples, but also somewhat less profilic Kao the Kangaroo.
The return of an "extremely popular brand" to PlayStation?
It is worth mentioning that another leak mentions Sony resurrecting a "very popular brand", with an announcement planned for late 2022 and a release in 2023. It could be inFAMOUS, Sly, or the Twisted Metal series, which is about to get its own TV series (via Variety). Alternatively, one of many other forgotten series from Sony's catalogue.
We remind you to treat any unofficial information as false until confirmed. This also applies to the rumor that Forspoken from Square Enix was delayed.
