Playing as This Character in Baldur's Gate 3 Seems Most Heroic, Says Developer
Baldur's Gate 3's scriptwriter admitted that the most heroic character in the game seems to be the theoretically cruelest one, although under certain conditions. Spoiler alert!

Baldur's Gate 3 has been on the market for just over two weeks and it has already managed to grow a cult following. Certainly one of the reasons for this is the multitude of options available and the freedom that this giant RPG offers.
The aforementioned freedom is revealed in the game from the very beginning - already when choosing a character. Players can create their own character from scratch or choose a ready-made hero with a predetermined class, history and motivations.
One of the most interesting options at the start is the so-called Dark Urge, which is a character whose initial development and appearance can be changed at will, but behind which there is a story - a very mysterious story.
It's not exactly a character...
Dark Urge, although counted among the so-called origins (pre-made) characters, is really more of a state of mind that we decide on at the start.
Behind this flaw of sorts is an insanely interesting story, which over the course of the game, piece by piece, is revealed to the player. This is because the character initially suffers from amnesia.
As the name suggests, Dark Urge is a choice for those who are not intimidated by violence - as we find out very quickly during the gameplay.
Ironically, however, according to the main scriptwriter of Baldur's Gate 3, Adam Smith, this path may turn out to be the most heroic, despite the first impression (via PCGamer)
This is because the game gives you the choice of following the urges speaking in the protagonist's head, or trying to resist them by completely reinventing the character.
"For me - and I won't spoil - Dark Urge is potentially the most heroic way to play the game, because resisting what's inside you and surviving it with your friends beside you is, in my opinion, the most heroic act."
Interestingly, Smith emphasized the word "potentially", for there is nothing to prevent Dark Urge from fully consuming our character, murdering and destroying everything in its path.
And this is what players love the new Baldur for. It is us and our decisions that create a unique story. Almost for everyone the gameplay is different.
Recall that on September 6 Baldur's Gate 3 will hit the PlayStation 5 console.
