People Can't Wait for Baldur's Gate 3; Number of Players Increasing
The popularity of Baldur's Gate 3 is growing at a high rate. In 5 days, the number of concurrent players on Steam has more than doubled.
Baldur's Gate 3 has been talked about a lot lately, and there's nothing surprising about it, as the third installment of the iconic series is about to debut. On August 3 it will appear on PC, and on September 6 the PS5 edition will hit the stores.. Currently the game is in early access and it turns out that in recent days the game's popularity has significantly increased.
Growing interest in Baldur's Gate 3
It could be said that whoever wanted to test Baldur's Gate 3 in early access, has already done so, as the game went live was made available on Steam on October 6, 2020. However, it turns out that nothing could be further from the truth, as in the last 5 days alone, the number of active players has increased by more than 80%.. According to information from SteamDB July 4, the record for the 24-hour peak was 7607 people, and already on July 9 it was 13,856 concurrent players.
As if that wasn't enough, Baldur's Gate 3 is currently in 6th place on the list of global bestsellers on Steam, while it should be noted that in 1st place we find Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with Steam Deck smiling down at us from 2nd, and at 5th we see the logo of Apex Legends, so we are talking about two free-to-play games and gaming device. If we consider only paid titles, then BG3 would rank 3rd, just behind BattleBit: Remastered and Dave the Diver.
It is worth noting that player perception of the game has also improved. Shortly after the release in early access, Baldur's Gate 3 received 2618 negative reviews, and on July 1, 2023 there were only 102 of them. Currently on Steam, the game boasts as much as 88% positive reviews. In the last 30 days there were 93% of them, so the upward trend is evident here as well.
