PC Running Windows XP and Playble Doom Recreated in Minecraft
Minecraft mod enables us to build a working computer, on which we can install Windows and play Doom.
Doom is a legendary title. The years go by, new installments of the iconic series are released, and the original game can be launched on... virtually everything. Doom has been run on calculators, printers and thermostats. Minecraft, in turn, is considered to be a game in which, with a bit of creativity (and with the help of a few mods) we can do whatever we like. It is no suprize then that recently Reddit user known asuDrunkMate managed to run Windows XP and Doom in Microsoft's production.
To enjoy the memorable FPS inside Minecraft we need to install a mod called VM Computers, which enables us to order the parts needed to build our computer from a satellite orbiting the game world. The add-on uses VirtualBox - a tool for creating virtual machines, so installation of Windows XP proceed as in the normal version of the program. After placing a block called "PC" in the game, we continue to simply create a virtual hard disk and install the operating system on it from an ISO file, and then run Doom inside it.
Windows XP and Doom are probably just the beginning of fun with virtual machines, because other operating systems can also be installed with better or worse results using the mod. We're waiting for Minecraft in Minecraft, and the answer to the eternal question - will it run Crysis?
