Pawel Sasko Explains Why Cyberpunk 2077 Lacks Police Chases
One of Cyberpunk 2077's developers has explained the reasons for the lack of police chases in the game. The answer quickly sparked controversy among gamers.
- Pawel Sasko commented on the lack of police chases in Cyberpunk 2077;
- The developer's words outraged some players;
- He also admitted that the lack of the aforementioned mechanics is due to technological limitations.
During another Twitch broadcast, Pawel Sasko, the quest designer of Cyberpunk 2077, answered questions from his viewers. One of them concerned the lack of police chases in the game. The author of the comment stated that most open-world games of this type feature such mechanics.
Pavel Sasko's answer sparked a bit of controversy among the audience and the community focused around the game. The developer said that it's not true that all open-world games have the aforementioned mechanics. As an example he gave Elden Ring and Sonic Frontiers.
This statement outraged some users on Reddit. They stated that no one had in mind the titles mentioned by Sasko, but games set in worlds where there is actually a police force. So they quickly listed many productions in which law enforcement is able to chase the player. GTA, Watch Dogs, Sleeping Dogs or Mafia are just a few of them.
However, we must admit that the developer, continuing his statement, frankly confessed what was the reason for the lack of implementation of the aforementioned mechanics in Cyberpunk 2077. The developers didn't introduce it into the game because they simply couldn't do it. Technological limitations stood in their way. If the developers had been able to work around them, they would have decided to add such feature.
