Nvidia May be Preparing a GeForce RTX 2060 With 8 GB VRAM
An entry in the EEC (Eurasian Economic Union) database suggests that Nvidia is planning to improve the specifications of the GeForce RTX 2060, and more specifically, to add two additional gigabytes of VRAM.

IN A NUTSHELL:
- The EEC now includes an entry on GeForce RTX 2060 with 8 GB VRAM;
- For now, these are only ASUS card variants;
- An additional 2 GB of VRAM would help Nvidia's card to compete with the RX 5600 XT and 5700 Radeons.
PCGamesN reports that a new entry appeared in the EEC (Eurasian Economic Union) database, related to new models of the GeForce RTX 2060 from ASUS that have 8GB of VRAM (currently available variants have only 6GB). This suggests that Nvidia is planning to launch an improved version of its product.
It is worth noting that this is the base GeForce RTX 2060, not the faster Super variant, which is closer to the RTX 2070 in terms of specs. The additional two gigabytes of GDDR6 memory would certainly help Nvidia's card to compete with RX 5600 XT and 5700, especially if the change would not involve a price increase.
Currently, in terms of performance, Nvidia's product is somewhere in between the aforementioned Navi variants, and it is the smaller amount of RAM that denies it a fighting change against the more powerful of the two models - in some titles, 6GB is simply not enough to play comfortably in 1440p, resulting in lower performance or stuttering during the game.
PCGamesN editors also note that improving the RTX 2060 would be a good marketing move - on paper, the updgraded Turing would look better than the AMD RX 5600 XT. What's more, the amount of memory is one of the things users pay a lot of attention to (another thing is that not always the right thing to do).
