New Steam Update Gives You More Control of Your Game Library
Steam has received another update, and with it a number of improvements and fixes (including in Steam's game collection).
Valve continues to add more features to its platform. The first August update to Steam introduces useful improvements related to the library and quite a few other improvements.
There have been two changes related to game search on the game collection tab, but there is also one fix.
- From now on, gamers can sort titles by the date they were added to the Steam Library (including on the shelves), making it easier to find the latest acquisitions.
- The platform has also been enhanced with an option to show the compatibility of a user's games with Steam Deck on other devices. It is no longer necessary to log on to Valve's portable "console" to see if it can handle a given production.
- In addition, Valve has improved the performance of Steam when browsing the library in case you have a large number of game collections in your account.
An interesting new feature available in the settings is the addition of a timer to the Steam overlay. Seemingly a small thing, but - like the one tested since April and introduced in June notes - will come in handy for gamers who prefer to have all their information in one place instead of using a separate app. For example, people waiting for respawn of a wanted mob in an MMO game, or those who need to remind themselves when they should play "one more turn" in Civilization or in another time thief.
In addition, a number of bug fixes and new improvements were mentioned, including the ability to type on the touchpad of PlayStation controllers in Big Picture mode and fixing notifications that don't close. The full list can be found in a post on the the official Steam blog.
