Modern Warfare 2 Will Recreate the Iconic Chernobyl Mission From Call of Duty 4
The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will feature a mission that fans still consider one of the best in the series' history. Will it turn out the same way it did in Call of Duty 4 15 years ago?
Activision is preparing quite an attraction for fans of the Call of Duty series. Modern Warfare 2 will see the return of "All Ghillied Up" - the memorable mission from Call of Duty 4.
The developers revealed this information rather enigmatically in a new trailer, and Barry Sloane - the actor who lent his likeness to Captain Price (and voice in Modern Warfare 2) - dispelled any doubts. His post on Twitter clearly confirms the return of the mission, which is widely regarded as one of the best in FPS history (and certainly in the history of CoD).
Developers from Infinity Ward will take us again not only to Ukrainian Pripyat. Fans have spotted also scenes suggesting the return of other missions from Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts, although for now this is just speculation.
It also remains an open question how much of the original "All Ghillied Up" will remain in Modern Warfare 2. As a reminder: the last Modern Warfare was not so much a refresh as a reboot of this sub-cycle with a revised story. Perhaps this time young Price and Captain MacMillan will have more luck during their mission.
The new Modern Warfare 2 will debut in October.Source: the official Twitter account of the Call of Duty series.
How much will Pripyat change in Modern Warfare 2, we will find out October 28 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles. Or even earlier, as those who place a pre-order will be able to check out the campaign of Modern Warfare 2 a week before its official debut. For more information, see our previous news.
