Mirthwood has arrived at the Steam Winter Sale not only with a discount but also with an update and development plans. Bad Ridge Games studio has reduced the price of its RPG life simulator from $24.99 to $21,24, which is a 15% discount.

Apart from this, after all, modest sale, the developers have released patch 1.0.40. This is a slightly smaller update than the December update with combat system changes, but the long list of improvements also includes a lot of additions, including new tasks, contracts, and enemies. The developer also introduced changes to the gameplay: snowstorms were removed and the game balance was modified.

Furthermore, the Bad Ridge Games team has released a roadmap for Mirthwood, covering the period through the end of 2025. We have posted the graphic shared on Steam below.

Apart from the mandatory and already-begun holiday event, the developers have confirmed that the release of the "furious bards" and their instruments is planned for the first quarter of 2025, along with the introduction of marriage and family, and an animal update (including dogs and cats, as well as falconry).

The second quarter is expected to bring support for mods, local and remote co-op (via Steam Remote Play), and a redesign of the morality system. For some players, these may be the most important changes heading to Mirthwood.

Unfortunately, at the moment it doesn't seem like the second half of 2025 will be as rich. A new DLC is set to launch at the end of the year, but apart from that, the roadmap only shows two more seasonal events.

Perhaps the devs have some plans for this period, but there is no mention of it. Players are hoping for further improvements to the combat system and an online mode (even though in theory Steam Remote Play allows for such gameplay).
