Live From PS5 Video Celebrates PlayStation 5's Return to Stores
Sony is advertising the PlayStation 5 with an interesting commercial spot and announces that buying the console is to be „even easier.” Check out the well-known game characters in the video.
Probably a good portion of you have heard about the problems with the availability of PlayStation 5 both at launch and some time after. Not only was the console hard to find, but its price was often inflated by retailers. More than two years after launch, it is definitely more available, and things will only get better with time. According to Sony "finding the PS5 in stores this year will be even easier."
Game characters on original video
Such a state of affairs is announced by a new advertising spot. The "Live from PS5" video shows upcoming games, as well as those already available on the console, which may encourage the purchase of the device. You can watch the footage below.
The video was made along the lines of a news program, in which events are reported live by journalists. Through this, the world of video games is mixed with reality, which is visited by well-known characters.
The first covered scene reminds us of the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2, exclusive to the PS5 console. Criminals in Manhattan have been apprehended by not one, but two heroes - something we will experience in the fall in the game itself, as we will play both as Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
Further on, the spot depicts, among other things, a spectacular clash of the Eikons, a reference to Final Fantasty XVI. The game will debut on June 22 on PS5 and will only be available on PC after some time (due to temporary exclusivity of Sony's console).
Sony is really hype for adverting the PlayStation 5; in London the company even placed a huge axe of Kratos (below) referring to God of War: Ragnarok.
A new Uncharted?
Attention may be drawn to a certain short scene in which a girl with a torch is walking through a cave toward what appears to be an ancient artifact. This is kept very much in the mood of Tomb Raider or Uncharted. So could this be a reference to a game from either of these series, given that throughout the spot there are references only to new games? NOTE, SPOILER BELOW.
If this is indeed a teaser of sorts for the new Uncharted, it would stand somewhat in opposition to what Neil Druckmann said recently. According to him, for Naughty Dog the series is concluded. However, he may have been referring specifically to Nathan Drake's story, in which case a return of the brand with another protagonist would not be meaningless. SPOILER NOTE: In that case, putting his daughter as the protagonist of the new Uncharted would be quite likely (especially since the scene from the spot features a girl).
Other than the footage fragment in question, we have no other basis for speculating about the creation of a new Uncharted. The scene itself, on the other hand, might as well be a reference to another games.
