Loosing tools in Hitman Freelancer - Bug or Feature; Learn More About It

In Hitman Freelancer you can get a lot of tools, but if you lose, you are in for an unpleasant surprise.

Hitman Freelancer is a new gameplay mode, turning the adventures of Agent 47 into a roguelite. It allows players to complete a variety of missions within the campaign. Various items will help you to do so. These are indispensable if a mission is to succeed. Failure, however, brings with it serious consequences. Let's talk about the loss of tools.

Hitman Freelancer tools

As far as Freelancer tools are concerned, you have to be prepared for the fact that they disappear from the safehouse in the case of your defeat or the end of the campaign. This will happen even if you have not taken them on a mission. This is not a bug, but a deliberate mechanic to balance the difficulty level.

Some players see the upside of this solution. It makes them use tools instead of storing them for a dark hour that will never come. However, there are also many opponents of this mechanic, who argue that only items taken on a failed mission should disappear.

Hitman Freelancer – collectors tools

Collectors tools are special items that cost a lot. Nevertheless, they are well worth the price, as they do not disappear when you fail (there is a condition, though). In this aspect, they function in the same way as weapons. In the case that you take them on a mission and die, you will unfortunately lose your tools and it will force you to buy them again. However, if you do not complete the mission but leave them at the base, you will then be able to continue using them.

In summary: you can lose collectors tools, but only if you take them with you on a failed mission.
