Leak Suggests Metal Gear Solid 4 Could Also Come to Next-gen Consoles
According to clues reached by one Internet user, after being a „prisoner” of PlayStation 3 for 15 years, MGS4 may be included in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2.
Although there are still a few months to go until the debut of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, it's not impossible that Konami is already working on the next set containing, among other games, Metal Gear Solid 4. Admittedly, this is not confirmed information, but the mere fact that the set is called Volume 1, suggests that there are also plans for a Volume 2.
A Twitter user came across a second, rather interesting clue. Nitroid - as the user calls himself - examined Konami's website and came across a graphic showing the location of each part of MGS on a timeline.
Interestingly, it was recently updated with interactive buttons for the titles that will appear in the upcoming first part of the collection. Other games - Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 5 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - also have links, although they are not yet active. This, in turn, may suggest that they, too, will receive working buttons in the future, and thus make their way to Volume 2.
There is no doubt that a sizable portion of gamers would welcome the news of a second set of MGS games, especially if its lineup would include Metal Gear Solid 4. Recall that the game, which debuted in 2008, is currently available only on PS3 consoles or PCs (via emulation). So the opportunity to play the game on current platforms would be a real treat for fans of the series.
It should be borne in mind, however, that these are still only loose assumptions. Therefore, it is not worth taking them for granted until Konami itself takes a stand on the matter.
Finally, let's recall that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be released on October 24, 2023. The production will hit PC.PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch..
