- According to insider Jeff Grubb, a new game from the Star Wars universe is titled Star Wars Eclipse;
- The game is being developed by Quantic Dream, the creators of such works as Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain;
- The game will probably be officially presented at the end of this year.
This past September, rumors surfaced online that a new game from Quantic Dream would be tied to the Star Wars universe. The topic returned thanks to the reliable insider Jeff Grubb, who confirmed these reports during a paid podcast Giant Bomb. According to the journalist, the new work of the team led by David Cage is titled Star Wars Eclipse (via GameSpot).
The game will probably take fans of the universe to the Great Republic era, that is will show the events that took place about 200 years before the story shown in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and 800 years after the fall of the Old Republic known from the games in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series. It was the golden age of the Jedi order, which will probably be reflected in the new production.
Grubb assumes that the game will be officially announced before the end of the year. It is possible that the presentation will take place during The Game Awards 2021 ceremony, which is scheduled for December 9. The second option is December 14, because this date is associated with the Bring Home the Bounty action - there is a graphic in its calendar under this date, showing a game controller.
For Quantic Dream, work on Star Wars Eclipse is certainly a new experience. So far, the company has been associated with thrilling adventure games with a focus on the story. Meanwhile, the creators' new work is focused mostly on action.
