Star Wars Eclipse Will Add Something Unheard of in Star Wars
Although we are years away from the release of Star Wars Eclipse, some interesting details about Quantic Dream's new project have surfaced on the web.
You may remember our September reports, saying that the developers of, among others, Detroit: Become Human will implement elements characteristic of Quantic Dream's earlier works in their new Star Wars game. Meanwhile, a leak has hit the web, revealing some details about the plot of Star Wars Eclipse. According to this information, in the game we will see a hitherto unknown race.
The plot and more
The reports were provided by Colin Moriarty during the Sacred Symbols podcast (via VGC). Insider revealed that the main character of the game codenamed Project S is to be Sarah, a 30-year-old representative of the aforementioned humanoid race called Zaaran.
An important part of the upcoming game is to be her relationship with her future husband, Xando. However, the differences between the two (the man is quiet by nature, while his chosen one almost "fanatically believes in the violence demonstrated by her empire") will make things highly complicated.
Moriarty added that development of the plot for Star Wars Eclipse, or if you prefer - Project S - is being handled by David Cage (video game designer and founder of Quantic Dream) and Adam Williams (former TV writer and one of the writers of Detroit: Become Human).
Controlled leak
Well-known industry journalist Tom Henderson decided to investigate the veracity of the reports. According to his sources the information revealed by Moriarty is part of a controlled leak, which was intended to interest the public and potential employees in the project, as well as to probe reactions to the story itself.
It will be a long time before we see any results of Quantic Dream's work (we expect them no earlier than 2026). The project is said to be in the very early stages of development, and the studio itself is reportedly facing serious problems with the game engine.
