Star Wars: Eclipse Release Later Than Expected
Star Wars: Eclipse will not be released any time soon. Recent leaks suggest that Quantic Dream is still struggling with the Star Wars game.
This year's summer conferences brought us news about single new game from the Star Wars universe. We will have to wait longer for news on Star Wars: Eclipse, which is rumored to be released only in 2026, if not later.
As reported by well-known insider Tom Henderson (via Insider Gaming), new project by Quantic Dream (allegedly the most ambitious in the developers' history) is being born in pain. The journalist's sources say that the developer has a problem with recruitment after the mobbing affair from years ago. Admittedly, the company was cleared of all charges in 2021, but, Henderson wrote, a court battle with one of Quantic Dream's former employees is still ongoing.
Combined with the scale of the project, this may mean that the team won't make it in time for the 2026 release, as the developer is currently planning. Similar reports have surfaced before, and last year Henderson mentioned a debut only in 2027 or even 2028.
Of course, this is unofficial information, and while Henderson is considered a reliable source, it is better to be cautious about such reports. Nevertheless, the fact that the French studio is not eager to reveal information on the subject, in a way, confirms that the release of Star Wars: Eclipse is likely to keep us waiting for a long time.
Another thing is that we also knew nothing about another French developer's Star Wars gamee for more than two years after the project's reveal. However, after the first materials from this month concerning Star Wars: Outlaws, no one is complaining about the lack of information about the game (except maybe the release date).
