After a delay, and series of demos in the middle, we’ll be finally able get our hands on the Early Access version of inZOI, which will be entering Steam. This revolutionary and cozy life (or death) simulation experience has a chance to take on The Sims' legacy, but it will take a long time before developers’ vision will come to fruition. Many fans are worried about high system requirements of this game, but that’s only where the story begins, as the creators have prepared a special option called Smart Zoi that is said to take the simulation to a whole another level. It is still an experimental feature, yet it can add a new layer of depth to this production. What is it and how beefy your hardware has to be to enjoy it? Let’s find out!

Smart Zoi in InZOI explained

Many players have been impatiently waiting to be able to get into the world of inZOI, a life sim created by Krafton. As more than a decade has passed since the last, fully-fledged installment of The Sims, there is a huge vacuum in the market that the Korean studio has an opportunity to fill. With AI on the rise, it shouldn’t be surprising that the creators are experimenting with such functionality in their title. This feature is called Smart Zoi and will take your computer through the hoops.

What most life simulators are lacking is the unpredictability and chaos of real life, that can result in multitudes of amazing stories. This is what Smart Zoi strives to deliver. By equipping Zois with artificial intelligence, that takes into consideration unique traits of your simulators, it can create intricate behaviors in the game environment that are supposed to lead to more believable, one-of-a-kind experiences. It doesn’t come cheap, though, and adds to already high system requirements of this production.

To enjoy more complex and erratic scenarios, you will need a top-of-the-line components, like the latest generation CPU and preferably Nvidia GPU even in 5000 series or high-end 4000. This is not something that your average fan of the genre sports, and thus it is an optional feature that can be disabled to save on resources.

Nevertheless, it has a chance to be a breakthrough functionality, so it’s worth playing around with it, if your PC specs allow it. You can adjust its settings in “Game Options” menu under “Gameplay” tab. To further optimize the game, the developers have shared an article with several tips on how to make the most of its amazing graphics without killing your machine on the spot.

Krafton has assured us that their development team works constantly on improving the game for everyone. However, we must know that in order to move the industry and the genre itself forward, some sacrifices are to be made. In the case of InZOI, these are performance and system requirements that are on par with the latest technology. It might be worth it though as it can be a next step in how video games in general are made and improved. Have fun!
