You can never have too many thrilling adventure games that keep you hooked till the very end. And there’s one coming this year that’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. The indie team at TomorrowHead Studio is cooking up something seriously exciting and eerie for us.

Lost at sea, lost in thought. The emotional journey of WILL: Follow The Light

WILL: Follow The Light weaves an escapism-driven narrative inspired by Firewatch, while its visuals and atmosphere capture the haunting beauty of Alan Wake. But it's not just about wandering from one location to another, solving puzzles to uncover the next chapter of the story. You'll also take the helm of a sailing yacht, with controls designed to feel realistic yet accessible, drawing inspiration from real voyagers' experiences.

But if that hasn’t won you over yet, just take a look at those stunning aesthetics the dev team is crafting. It’s giving me major The Long Dark vibes, but with a more realistic touch.

TomorrowHead Studio describes their game as a story that “revisits the timeless dilemma between fathers and sons,” so we should better get ready for an emotional journey through raging storms and the eerie silence of solitude. The game appears to center around this theme, offering a mysterious adventure filled with stark contrasts – battling both the relentless force of water and the unforgiving challenges of the land.

The trailer offers just a glimpse of what looks like a truly immersive experience. Who knows, this could be the next What Remains of Edith Finch or The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, both of which are burned into my memory.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
