How to Play Spiritborn. Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Expansion Not Working Fix
If you are having issues with launching D4 VoH or having Spiritborn appear as locked, here you will find an easy fix for this problem.
Despite strong competition from Path of Exile or Last Epoch, Diablo 4 is launching a counterattack, releasing its expansion pack entitled Vessel of Hatred. This new content takes us to a region called Nahantu, allowing to check out a new character class – Spiritborn. At least it should offer all those things, as fans who have bought the DLC on Xbox are unable to venture through this uncharted land. Fortunately, players enjoying D4 on that console are not left behind, yet need to take one extra step to get into VoH. Here you will find all you need to know to make it work.
VoH not working in D4
It is a treat to take fresh character class for a spin, as it’s not something that happens every day. In games such advanced mechanically as D4, it takes a lot of work to balance the gameplay properly. However, it appears that premiere of VoH didn’t go smoothly, because some Xbox and PlayStation players report issues that Spiritborn class is locked for them completely, or the expansion doesn’t work at all. The solution is quite simple. On Xbox:
- Select the D4 icon,
- Choose Start,
- Go to Manage Game Add-Ons,
- Next, make sure to click on D4 Base Game,
- There, use Manage Installation on internal storage option,
- Find Vessel of Hatred Expansion Pack and select corresponding checkbox,
- Save the changes.
Those steps have been shared on official Diablo 4 forum by the community manager, yet it doesn’t seem to work for everyone. Fortunately, there is an alternative way of dealing with this:
- Go to Xbox store,
- Find Vessel of Hatred,
- Download the game.
Doing so should result in downloading a small, around 10MB, file that will enable the expansion for this title.
Once you’ve successfully activated the expansion you have to start it first. It is not required to finish the base game. If you ever get lost, make sure to check out the interactive map that we have prepared. It is updated with the new region as well. Have fun!
