Homeworld 3 Announcement Inbound? Mysterious Tweet of Gearbox Software
It seems that Gearbox Software will announce the next part of the Homeworld series during the PAX West 2019 event. The game may be announced today - during the company's conference. The source of the information is a mysterious Twitter post.
The PAX West 2019 event is currently taking place in Washington DC, with many companies presenting or announcing new titles. It seems that one of such games may be the long-awaited next installment of the Homeworld series. A mysterious tweet by Gearbox Software - the current owner of the rights to this franchise - suggests that today, during the company's conference (at 10:30 am PT), we will see the official announcement.
The last game of the main Homeworld series was Homeworld 2, released in 2003, whose updated version four years ago was included in the Homeworld Remastered Collection (with the revised first part). In 2016, the well received Homeworld prequel Deserts of Kharak was also introduced to the market, moving the action from space to the desert planet pulled straight from the Dune series.
The picture in the tweet suggests that the new production may have more in common with the first two parts than with the vastly different Deserts of Kharak. However, we will have to wait a few more hours for more information.
